Organized in 1820 as New Lebanon. In 1830 moved to village of Carthage and name was changed. In 1850 this building burned and services were held in Carthage Academy until 1859 when the present church was erected by slaves of Robert Pinckney Frierson. Hywy. 69 in Moundville, Alabama 35474.
